  • Tolv wireless earphones and charging case
  • Interchangeable ear tips in 4 different sizes: XS, S, M, L
  • Micro-USB cable
  • Owners manual

Before getting started

⚠️  Sudio Tolv is delivered with a protective film covering the charging connectors between the earbuds and charging case. The film needs to be removed in order for the earbuds to charge.

The earbuds will likely have some existing battery charge, however it is recommended to fully charge Tolv before using it for the first time.

Turning Tolv on or off

Tolv powers up as soon as the earbuds are removed from the charging case, as indicated by the LED lights on the earbuds.

Similarly, Tolv is turned off when placing the earbuds back into the case.

You can also use the button controls to power the earbuds on/off. Do this by holding the button for 5 seconds on either earbud.

Jump to complete guide

Tolv enters pairing mode when the earbuds are removed from the charging case. Open the Bluetooth settings on your device and wait for Tolv and the device to locate each other, then select Sudio Tolv when it appears in the list. You will hear 🔈 Device Connected, confirming that the devices are paired with each other!

Charging the batteries

Jump to complete guide

There are three batteries in total on Tolv; one in the charging case and one in each earbud.

The Tolv earbuds charge their batteries automatically when placed inside the charging case, this is indicated by the LED lights on the earbuds. Make sure to first remove the protective film which is covering the charging connectors.

The Tolv case is charged with a Micro-USB cable. When the case is charging, you will see the left light in the back of the charging case. It is recommended to use the Sudio Micro-USB cable that's included in the package, but the charging case may be compatible with third-party Micro-USB cables as well.

If Tolv is behaving unexpectedly or you simply wish to restore it to its original settings, then you can reset it. You may then proceed with pairing Tolv again.

Tolv - User guide - Connectivity & Pairing

Pairing Tolv with a device

mceclip0.png

  1. Remove the Tolv earbuds from the charging case and fit them inside your ears. If you want to use both, make sure to lift the second earbud within 15 seconds of lifting the first one.
  2. Go into the Bluetooth settings on your device. The Tolv earbud LED lights are flashing white and red while scanning for available devices.
    • For iOS (iPhone), go to the Settings app and select Bluetooth.
    • For Android, go to the Settings app, then select Connections followed by Bluetooth.
    • For Windows 10, click on the Start button, select Settings followed by Devices, and then Bluetooth and other devices.
    • For macOS, go to the System Preferences app and select Bluetooth.
  3. Locate and select Sudio Tolv in the Bluetooth list on your device.
  4. When paired you will hear the audio feedback 🔈 Device Connected.

If you would like to use only one of the earbuds, you can do so by just taking out the one you want to use from the charging case. Then proceed with connecting the earbud to either "Sudio Tolv" (Right) or "Sudio Tolv-L" (Left).

If Tolv has previously been paired with your preferred device, simply remove the earbuds from the charging case and they will automatically connect, so long as Bluetooth is activated on the device and Tolv has not been paired with a different device more recently.

Device compatibility

Tolv uses Bluetooth version 5.0 which is compatible with a wide range of Bluetooth devices. The paired device does not need to be the same version, but similar versions are more likely to maintain a strong connection.

Signal interference

Some wireless devices may interfere with each others' signals, such as WiFi-routers, smartwatches, other Bluetooth devices, etc. If they operate within the same frequency, you may experience interference such as dropped sound and glitching. The easiest way to locate the cause of interference is by maintaining one connection between devices at the same time or take your Tolv and connected device outdoors to see if the interference clears.

Tolv can be up to a maximum of 15 meters (49 ft) from the paired device, but the connection may break if they are blocked by walls or similar objects.

Pairing with multiple devices

Tolv can remember up to 8 paired devices, which means that you don't have to follow the pairing step every time you switch between devices. When Tolv is turned on, it will automatically connect to the device most recently connected.

If you want to reconnect to one of your previously paired devices, please disconnect Tolv first from the device you are currently using, and click "Sudio Tolv" in the wireless connection list of the next device you want to connect. Tolv supports multi-pairing, but you can only play audio from one device at a time.

Tolv - User guide - Button controls

Tolv has a control button on each earbud that allows you to control certain features on your paired device.

Some apps, however, may not be compatible with the button controls. In this case, you are only able to control playback and calls via the paired device.

Music/video playback

mceclip0.png

  • Press once on either earbud (left or right) to play or pause
  • Press twice on the left earbud to rewind
  • Press twice on the right earbud to go forward

Incoming phone calls

mceclip1.png

  • Press once on either earbud (left or right) to accept a phone call
  • Press (hold) for three seconds on either earbud (left or right) to reject or end a phone call

Power

Tolv powers on and off automatically when the earbuds are taken out or put back inside the case. However, you can also control this without using the charging case.

  • Press (hold) for five seconds on either earbud (left or right) to power on (single earbud)
  • Press (hold) for five seconds on either earbud to power off (single earbud). After 5 seconds the listening mode will change, followed by 🔈 Power Off.

Tolv - User guide - Factory reset

If Tolv starts behaving unexpectedly, or if you wish to remove the connection between Tolv and the connected device, you can perform a factory reset to restore your Sudio Tolv to its original settings. This will reset the connection between your paired devices, as well as the connection between the two earbuds.

  1. Disconnect Sudio Tolv from all previously connected devices, most often by clicking on the "Forget" button.
  2. Turn off both earphones by pressing and holding both buttons for 6 seconds, until you hear Power off.
  3. Start the earphones again by pressing and holding both sides for 13 seconds, until the lights stop blinking.
  4. Put the earphones back in the case and wait for 3 minutes.
  5. The factory reset is complete.

Then you can start to pair them:

  1. Lift both earphones from the charging case at the same time (do not lift one by one, but both at the same time) and they will be in pairing mode.
  2. Select 'Sudio Tolv' in the Bluetooth list on your device.

After the factory reset, if you're seeing multiple Tolv devices in your Bluetooth list, such as "Sudio Tolv" and "Sudio Tolv-L", it could be caused by having pressed the buttons directly after taking them out of the charging case, or not taking both earbuds out at the same time.

Tolv pairs automatically when you take them out of the case, so avoid clicking on the buttons after you have performed the factory reset.

Tolv - FAQ - What to do when Tolv is behaving unexpectedly or not pairing

If the earphones are behaving unexpectedly or you are having difficulty pairing, we recommend a reset.

Please take your time with this process as there are several steps.

If the earphones fall out of sync, to pair again, you'll first have to bring them to the factory reset:

  1. Turn off both earphones by pressing and holding both buttons for 6 seconds.
  2. Start the earphones again by pressing and holding both sides for 13 seconds, until the lights stop blinking.
  3. Put the earphones back in the case and wait for 30 seconds.
  4. They are now reset.

Then you can start to pair them:

  1. Lift both earphones from the charging case at the same time (do not lift one by one, but both at the same time) and they will be in pairing mode.
  2. Select 'Sudio Tolv' in the wireless connection list on your device.

Tolv - FAQ - Can I use one earbud at a time?

TZbGG7r0.jpeg

Yes, you can use one Tolv earbud on its own for both playback and calls. Both earbuds have the same components (speakers and microphones), which means that you can use either the left or right earbud at your leisure.

If you would like to use only one of the earbuds, you can do so by just taking out the one you want to use from the charging case. Then proceed with connecting the earbud to either "Sudio Tolv" (Right) or "Sudio Tolv-L" (Left).

It’s always a good idea to charge both earbuds until full after having used them separately to maintain the same battery levels.

Tolv - FAQ - Does Tolv support wireless charging?

No, Tolv does not support wireless charging through Q1-technology or similar. Charge your Tolv case by inserting a Micro USB-cable and connecting it to either a USB-port or to a wall socket via an adapter.

We recommend using the Sudio cable included in the product packaging, however other third-party Micro USB-cables may be compatible too.
