T2 enters pairing mode when opening the lid on the charging case. Open the Bluetooth settings on your device and wait for T2 and the device to locate each other, then select Sudio T2  when it appears in the list. You will hear 🔈 Connected, confirming that the devices are paired with each other!

Charging the batteries

Jump to complete guide

There are three batteries in total on T2; one in the charging case and one in each earbud.

The T2 earbuds charge their batteries automatically when placed inside the charging case, this is indicated by the LED lights on the earbuds. Make sure to first remove the protective film which is covering the charging connectors.

The T2 case is charged with a Type-C USB-cable. When the case is charging, you will see a light below the charging port (where the cable is inserted). It is recommended to use the Sudio Type-C USB-cable that's included in the package, but the charging case may be compatible with third-party Type-C USB-cables as well.

Restoring T2 to factory settings

Device compatibility

T2 uses Bluetooth version 5.2 which is compatible with a wide range of Bluetooth devices. The paired device does not need to be the same version, but similar versions are more likely to maintain a strong connection.

What is Sudio T2 BLE?

Sudio T2 BLE may appear in the Bluetooth list alongside Sudio T2 on some devices (such as Android and Windows). While selecting it is completely harmless, the correct one to pair with should always be Sudio T2. Selecting Sudio T2 BLE may result in your earphones or device not performing as expected.

Signal interference

Some wireless devices may interfere with each others' signals, such as WiFi-routers, smartwatches, other Bluetooth devices, etc. If they operate within the same frequency, you may experience interference such as dropped sound and glitching. The easiest way to locate the cause of interference is by maintaining one connection between devices at the same time or take your T2 and connected device outdoors to see if the interference clears.

T2 can be up to a maximum of 10 meters (32 ft) from the paired device, but the connection may break if they are blocked by walls or similar objects.

Pairing with multiple devices

T2 can remember up to 10 devices and will pair automatically with the last used device. In most cases, you can switch between devices by selecting Sudio T2 in the Bluetooth list which pairs it with that device instead. However, some devices require T2 to be disconnected from the previous device entirely before they can be paired. It’s not possible to keep T2 connected to several devices at the same time, such as a laptop and smartphone simultaneously.

T2 - User guide - Touch controls

T2 has a touch control button on each earbud that allows you to control certain features on your paired device.

t2-factory-reset.png

If T2 starts behaving unexpectedly, or if you wish to remove the connection between T2 and the connected device, you can perform a factory reset to restore your Sudio T2 to its original settings. This will reset the connection between your paired devices, as well as the connection between the two earbuds.

  1. Place the earbuds back into the charging case and keep the lid open.
  2. Press and hold the reset button on the bottom side of the case for 5 seconds.
  3. The factory reset is complete when the LED light on the back of the case flashes white twice.
  4. Close the lid and allow 1-2 minutes before using the earphones again.

When you hear 🔈 Ready to pair, find your Sudio product in the Bluetooth list of your device, proceed to pair them with your Bluetooth device.

T2 - User guide - Battery levels and management

T2 has three built-in batteries; one inside the charging case and one in each earbud. The battery inside the case is used to charge the earbuds, while the included Type-C USB-cable is used to charge the case.

Before using your T2 for the first time

⚠️  Sudio T2 is delivered with a protective film covering the charging connectors between the earbuds and charging case. The film needs to be removed in order for the earbuds to power on.

Charging and play times

The earbuds can be used for approximately 7.5 hours on one charge (6.5 hours while using Active Noise Cancellation), with up to 35 hours in total before the case needs to be recharged.

Each battery takes approximately 60 minutes to fully charge. T2 also supports quick charge, restoring 2 hours of playtime after 10 minutes of charging.

Charging methods

The T2 case can only be charged with a Type-C USB-cable, wireless charging is not supported. We recommend using the Sudio cable included in the package, however, other third-party Type-C USB-cables may be compatible too.

Battery level indicators

There are three LED-lights that indicate the respective batteries' remaining level. The charging case’s indicating light is on the back of the case, below the charging port. The earbuds' indicating lights are below the touch control buttons.

The LED's light up when the earbuds connect and disconnect to the case and when there is less than 25% battery remaining.

When inserting the charging cable to the case, the current battery level is displayed for 5 seconds followed by a blinking light, indicating that the case is currently charging.

In some cases, you can also read the battery level on your phone, such as iPhone or Android devices. The level shown is that of the T2 earbuds, not the charging case.

T2 - User guide - Getting the perfect fit

Sudio T2 has gone through extensive research and testing to result in an ergonomic design that provides all-day comfort and is ideal for long listening sessions.

To fit the earbud inside your ear, place it with the touch button facing outwards and slightly twist it in place.

T2 is delivered with four interchangeable silicone ear tips in sizes XS, S, M, and L. The size M ear tips come pre-fitted on the earbuds. If needed, change these to find the size that best fits your ears without compromising comfort.

T2 - User guide - Care and cleaning

Cleaning your earphones on a regular basis will ensure the best possible sound performance and prevent them from wearing out sooner than expected.

Sudio T2 features silicone ear tips with a built-in mesh net, protecting the earbuds from dirt, grime (and the notorious earwax), all while sitting comfortably in your ears. These ear tips can be removed from the earbuds and cleaned with water or a cotton swab. Avoid hot water though, as this can distort the size and shape of the ear tips.

t2-eartips.png

Use only a slightly damp cloth when cleaning the earbuds and/or case. You can also use a fine brush or cotton swab to gently clean inside the case, avoiding damage to the charging connectors (copper pins). While the T2 earbuds and case are sweat- and splash-proof, subjecting them to high moisture levels could lead to permanent water damage.

Psst, the Sudio Care Kit is ideal for regular maintenance and includes all the tools you need to keep your Sudio earphones in shape!

Keep in mind that with time, some discoloration may eventually appear. This is most common if the earbuds or charging case continue to come in contact with dirty surfaces or materials over extended periods of time.

T2 - Features - Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) & Transparency Mode

T2 features three audio modes that let you decide what you want to hear - and what you don't want to hear. These three modes are called Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Transparency mode, and Normal (Off) mode.

The Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) mode in T2 reduces outside noise which allows you to fully immerse yourself in your own world.

Transparency mode works the opposite way and instead amplifies sounds in the background, enabling your spatial awareness. With this, you can stay alert to your surroundings without having to take out an earbud, or simply hear your own voice while on a phone call.

As soon as your phone recognizes that a phone call is incoming, T2 will automatically pause what you are listening and switch to transparency mode, then let you decide whether to answer the phone call or not.
The transparency mode will be on during the call regardless of use of ANC. When you end the phone call, T2 goes back to normal mode, ANC mode or Transparency mode depending on how you were using the earbuds before the call.

How to switch between the modes

The earbuds are in Normal (Off) mode by default, where background noise is neither reduced nor amplified. By holding the touch control for 2 seconds on any of the earbuds (left or right) the modes cycle between Normal, Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency, and then back to Normal.

How does Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) work?

The mechanics behind Active Noise Cancellation is in its name. The built-in microphones on T2 listen to the noise outside the earbuds while using the speaker to emit the same noise - but inverted - inside, reducing the outside noise nearly entirely. The ANC in T2 uses Feed Forward technology, which uses the microphone on the outside of the earbud to forward noise to the internal processor.

Feed Forward technology works best when used in surroundings that have a static low-frequency noise, for example in transportation (cars, public transport, or airplanes). However, you may not notice a significant difference with high-frequency noise (such as people talking) or if the noise is irregular.

T2 - Features - Beamforming microphones

T2 features two beamforming microphones for speech. One is directed towards your mouth and the other in the opposite direction. T2 listens to both inputs, compares the delays and works out which noise is desired (your voice) and which one is undesired (the rest). This results in a crisper sound with reduced noise coming from the outside.

t2-beamforming.png

How to position your earbuds for the microphones to pick up your voice

The beamforming microphones in T2 are tuned to listen for speech from a certain direction and distance, approximately from your ears (where the earbuds are placed) to your mouth (where your voice is coming from). Make sure to fit the earbuds so that the pointy end (where the microphones are located) is aligned with your mouth. Wearing the earbuds incorrectly, speaking very quietly, or using one earbud at a time can affect the sound quality of your voice.

If you prefer using only one earbud, make sure to keep the other one inside the T2 charging case in the meantime.

T2 - FAQ - Can I use one earbud at a time?

t2wht-one-earbud.png

Yes, you can use one T2 earbud on its own for both playback and calls. Both earbuds have the same components (speakers and microphones), which means that you can use either the left or right earbud at your leisure.

To ensure a stable connection, always keep the unused earbud inside the charging case.

It’s always a good idea to charge both earbuds until full after having used them separately to maintain the same battery levels.

T2 - FAQ - Does T2 support wireless charging?

No, T2 does not support wireless charging through Q1-technology or similar. Charge your T2 case by inserting a Type-C USB-cable and connecting it to either a USB-port or to a wall socket via an adapter.

We recommend using the Sudio cable included in the product packaging, however other third-party Type-C USB-cables may be compatible too.

T2 - FAQ - I can't be heard well during calls, what should I do?

If the person you're having a phone call with cannot hear you well, there are several different factors that could be causing this. We'll guide you step-by-step to localize the issue and outline which factors you can and cannot affect.

Check the hardware

One of the first things to check is if the earbuds (where the microphones are placed) are dirty or if any of the ports are obstructed. If you notice any dust or dirt on the earbuds, gently remove it.

Avoid windy or loud environments

While the beamforming microphones aid in canceling out any outside noise, it's always best to check if the sound quality improves in a more quiet area, whenever possible.

Pay attention to how the earbuds are worn

Keep in mind that the T2 microphones are tuned to listen for speech from a certain direction and distance, approximately from your ears (where the earbuds are placed) to your mouth (where your voice is coming from). Make sure to fit the earbuds so that the pointy end (where the microphones are located) is aligned with your mouth. Wearing the earbuds incorrectly or using one earbud at a time can affect the sound quality of your voice. If you prefer using only one earbud, make sure to keep the other one inside the T2 charging case in the meantime.

t2-mic-placement.jpg

Record your own voice

The next step is to check if the issue lies in the microphones. Using your paired device, make a recording of yourself talking. Examples of this are using the built-in camera or a voice memo app.

If your voice sounds good during the recording, you can rule out issues with the microphone.

Charge the battery

Phone calls and VoIP calls use more battery than with normal playback, considering that both the speakers and microphones are used at the same time. You may experience poorer call quality if your earbuds are low on battery.

Check for signal interference

Glitching, distortions, delays, and other sound issues during a call are most often caused by interference, either from other Bluetooth devices nearby, Wi-Fi networks or cell reception. While localizing the source of the interference can be tedious and time-consuming, it will help you single out which devices are affecting the sound quality.

The best way to determine the source of the interference is by ruling out each scenario one by one while on a call with a helpful friend. As a rule of thumb, always perform a factory reset on your T2 if you're experiencing connection issues. Then, with each completed step below, check if the sound quality changes.

  • If you have any other Bluetooth devices connected to the same device that your T2 is paired with, such as other wireless audio products, smartwatches, keyboards, mice etc., disconnect all but T2. If you notice a difference, you can then pair each device again one by one.
  • If your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network, disconnect it and check the call quality again. If the sound quality improves, your Wi-Fi network may be using the same frequency as the T2 earbuds or the paired device. You can possibly overcome this by moving closer to your router, or by changing the channel in your router settings. Refer to the manufacturer's documentation for more information.
  • Other physical objects in your vicinity can also cause interference, including (but not limited to); walls, large solid objects, jewelry, metal objects, microwaves, or any object that emits frequencies of 2.4GHz.

T2 - FAQ - What does the QR code inside the case do?

The QR code printed inside the lid of the T2 charging case can be scanned to reveal the unit's serial number.

By scanning the code with your smartphone camera or with third-party QR code scanners, the 12-digit serial number appears on the screen.

The serial number is required when you register your product to Sudio Sphere, and may also be required in a warranty claim process.

If you are unable to scan the serial number, you can also find it underneath a QR code on the product packaging.

T2 - FAQ - Why am I seeing several Sudio T2 devices in the Bluetooth list?

While pairing Sudio T2 with your device, you may come across several devices in the Bluetooth pairing list, such as "Sudio T2" and "Sudio T2 BLE".

Which device should I select in the list?

The correct device that you should always pair with is Sudio T2 (not Sudio T2 BLE).

Selecting Sudio T2 BLE won't do any harm to any of your devices, but doing so may result in your earphones not performing as expected.

  • If you select Sudio T2 BLE on an Android device, you may receive an error message stating "An app is needed to use this device".
  • If you select Sudio T2 BLE on a Windows PC, the device may be recognized as a different type of device, such as a wireless keyboard.

In these cases, we recommend that you disconnect/remove the connection, and restart the pairing process. If you want to start over completely fresh, you can restart your device and perform a factory reset on Sudio T2.

I can't find the correct device in the Bluetooth list

The Sudio T2 BLE option most often appears due to previously-stored cache on your device, or that the earphones are not yet ready to pair.

Whenever the earphones are ready, the correct device (Sudio T2) will appear and be ready for pairing. Normally, this takes a few seconds but could at most take up to 1-2 minutes depending on the device.

Keep in mind that Sudio T2 only enters pairing mode when the lid of the charging case is opened, followed by the audio feedback 🔈 Ready to pair, find your Sudio product in the Bluetooth list of your device.
