  • Fem wireless earphones and charging case
  • Interchangeable ear tips in 4 different sizes: XS, S, M, L
  • Type-C USB-cable
  • Owners manual

Before getting started

⚠️  Sudio Fem is delivered with a protective film covering the charging connectors between the earbuds and charging case. The film needs to be removed in order for the earbuds to charge.

The earbuds will likely have some existing battery charge, however it is recommended to fully charge Fem before using it for the first time.

Turning Fem on or off

Fem powers up as soon as the earbuds are removed from the charging case, as indicated by the LED lights on the earbuds.

Similarly, Fem is turned off when placing the earbuds back into the case.

You can also use the touch controls to power the earbuds on/off. Do this by holding the button for 6 seconds on either earbud.

Pairing with a device

Jump to complete guide

Fem enters pairing mode when the earbuds are removed from the charging case. Open the Bluetooth settings on your device and wait for Fem and the device to locate each other, then select Sudio Fem when it appears in the list. You will hear 🔈 Pairing Successful, confirming that the devices are paired with each other!

Charging the batteries

Jump to complete guide

There are three batteries in total on Fem; one in the charging case and one in each earbud.

The Fem earbuds charge their batteries automatically when placed inside the charging case, this is indicated by the LED lights on the earbuds. Make sure to first remove the protective film which is covering the charging connectors.

The Fem case is charged with a Type-C USB-cable. When the case is charging, you will see lights in the inside of the charging case. It is recommended to use the Sudio Type-C USB-cable that's included in the package, but the charging case may be compatible with third-party Type-C USB-cables as well.

If Fem is behaving unexpectedly or you simply wish to restore it to its original settings, then you can reset it. You may then proceed with pairing Fem again.

Fem - User guide - Connectivity & Pairing

Pairing Fem with a device

  1. Remove the Fem earbuds from the charging case and fit them inside your ears.
  2. Go into the Bluetooth settings on your device. The Fem earbud LED lights are flashing white and red while scanning for available devices.
    • For iOS (iPhone), go to the Settings app and select Bluetooth.
    • For Android, go to the Settings app, then select Connections followed by Bluetooth.
    • For Windows 10, click on the Start button, select Settings followed by Devices, and then Bluetooth and other devices.
    • For macOS, go to the System Preferences app and select Bluetooth.
  3. Locate and select Sudio Fem in the Bluetooth list on your device.
  4. When paired you will hear the audio feedback 🔈 Pairing Successful.

If you would like to use only one of the earbuds, you can do so by just taking out the one you want to use from the charging case.

If Fem has previously been paired with your preferred device, simply remove the earbuds from the charging case and they will automatically connect, so long as Bluetooth is activated on the device and Fem has not been paired with a different device more recently.

Device compatibility

Fem uses Bluetooth version 5.0 which is compatible with a wide range of Bluetooth devices. The paired device does not need to be the same version, but similar versions are more likely to maintain a strong connection.

Signal interference

Some wireless devices may interfere with each others' signals, such as WiFi-routers, smartwatches, other Bluetooth devices, etc. If they operate within the same frequency, you may experience interference such as dropped sound and glitching. The easiest way to locate the cause of interference is by maintaining one connection between devices at the same time or take your Fem and connected device outdoors to see if the interference clears.

Fem can be up to a maximum of 10 meters (32 ft) from the paired device, but the connection may break if they are blocked by walls or similar objects.

Pairing with multiple devices

Fem can remember up to 8 paired devices, which means that you don't have to follow the pairing steps every time you switch between devices. When Fem is turned on, it will automatically connect to the device most recently connected.

If you want to reconnect to one of your previously paired devices, disconnect Fem from the device you are currently using, and click "Sudio Fem" in the Bluetooth list of the next device you want to connect. Fem supports multi-pairing, but you can only play audio from one device at a time.

Fem - User guide - Touch controls

Fem - User guide - Factory reset

If the Fem earphones are behaving unexpectedly or no longer pairing, they may have fallen out of sync with each other or with the connected device. To overcome this, perform a factory reset that will restore the earphones back to their original settings.

How to do it:

  1. Put both earphones inside the charging case.
  2. Disconnect Sudio Fem from all previously connected devices, which is most often done by pressing the "Forget" button.
  3. Lift both earphones from the charging case.
  4. Turn off both earbuds manually by pressing the touch buttons until the red light shines on both.
  5. Press and hold the left earphone button until the LED flashes red and white repeatedly.
  6. Repeat the same step on the right earbud.
  7. Put both earphones back inside the charging case and wait for 10 seconds.
  8. Lift both earphones at the same time from the charging case. Both LED lights will blink separately. When one earbud flashes red and white and the other's light stays dark, they are synced together.

You can now pair Fem with your device again by going into the Bluetooth settings and selecting "Sudio Fem".

Fem - User guide - Battery levels and management

Fem has three built-in batteries; one inside the charging case and one in each earbud. The battery inside the case is used to charge the earbuds, while the included USB Type-C cable is used to charge the case.

⚠️  Sudio Fem is delivered with a protective film covering the charging connectors between the earbuds and charging case. The film needs to be removed in order for the earbuds to charge.

Charging and play times

The earbuds can be used for approximately 6 hours on one charge, with up to 20 hours in total before the case needs to be recharged.

Each battery takes approximately 60 minutes to fully charge. Also 15 minutes of charging gives 1 hour of playtime.

Charging methods

The Fem case can be charged with a USB Type-C cable, wireless charging is not supported. We recommend using the Sudio cable included in the package, however, other third-party USB Type-C cables may be compatible too.

Battery level indicators

There are four LED lights inside of the charging case.

The LED lights in the charging case indicate the remaining battery level of the charging case. The LED lights will be on when you take out the earbuds or put them back into the charging case.

  • 100%: All four lights are on
  • 75%: Three white lights are on
  • 50%: Two lights are on
  • 25%: One light is on

Charging the earphones in the charging case:

  • If the LED lights on the earbuds shows white and is blinking, it means the earbuds are currently charging.

You can check the remaining battery of the Fem earbuds on your mobile device.
For iOS devices, you are able to see the battery icon on the top right side of the screen.
For Android devices, you are able to see the battery icon on the screen.

There's also a variety of third-party apps for battery management available in Google Play Store.

Fem - User guide - Getting the perfect fit

Fem is delivered with four interchangeable silicone ear tips in four different sizes. If needed, change the pre-fitted ear tips to find the size that best fits your ears without compromising comfort.

Fem - User guide - Care and cleaning

Cleaning your earphones on a regular basis will ensure the best possible sound performance and prevent them from wearing out sooner than expected.

Use only a slightly damp cloth when cleaning the earbuds and/or case. You can also use a fine brush or cotton swab to gently clean the earbuds and inside the case, avoiding damage to the charging connectors (copper pins). Avoid using alcohol or chemicals, as this can damage the rubber coating on the earbuds and case. In some cases, being exposed to strong sunshine or high heat might alter the form of the silicon material.

Psst, the Sudio Care Kit is ideal for regular maintenance and includes all the tools you need to keep your Sudio earphones in shape!

Light-colored earphones always need to be treated with a bit of extra care.

Keep in mind that with time, some discoloration may eventually appear. This is most common if the earbuds or charging case continue to come in contact with dirty surfaces or materials over extended periods of time.

Fem - FAQ - Can I use one earbud at a time?

TavT6R5g.jpeg

Yes, you can use one Fem earbud on its own for both playback and calls. Both earbuds have the same components (speakers and microphones), which means that you can use either the left or right earbud at your leisure.

If you would like to use only one of the earbuds, you can do so by just taking out the one you want to use from the charging case.

It’s always a good idea to charge both earbuds until full after having used them separately to maintain the same battery levels.

Fem - FAQ - Does Fem support wireless charging?

No, Fem does not support wireless charging through Q1-technology or similar. Charge your Fem case by inserting a Type-C USB-cable and connecting it to either a USB-port or to a wall socket via an adapter.

We recommend using the Sudio cable included in the product packaging, however other third-party Type-C USB-cables may be compatible too.
